Cobalt Models & Design

Multiple models and design work of an anthropomorphic rabbit character, Cobalt Grey. Modelled in both Maya (7.5k polys) and ZBrush, with textures in ZBrush (43.2 mil polys).

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
Cobalt quite literally fell from the sky one day, much to the surprise of many of the huntsmen living beneath the floating islands. In an effort to return to his home above, he journeys the monster-filled land to find his way back again. He has never been that good at magic like most people from the floating islands, but his aggressive demeanour, unethical training, and natural battle prowess have given him a great advantage in the real world compared to other students of magic.

Process work in conceptualizing Cobalt & characters in his world.

The first sketches of this character are a warrior-adventurer (upper left). To create a sense of magic, he was depicted as a 'jackalope' (a mythical rabbit with horns).

Lowpoly Cobalt (Maya) - wireframe rotation. Truer to his original toon design, but without the horns.
